Nursery Childcare

Nursery Childcare for 2 & 3 Year Olds

On this page, you can find information about our wonderful EYFS provision.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child’s life between birth and age 5.

This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; and support their development, care and learning needs.

Nurseries, pre-schools, reception classes and childminders registered to deliver the EYFS must follow a legal document called the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. The EYFS Framework explains how and what your child will be learning to support their healthy development.

Early Years at St Gregory's

In Nursery, we are at the start of a journey that will take many years until your child is ready to leave us at the end of Year 6. This journey will be full of fun, surprises and laughter. It is one we will travel together to support your child.

St Gregory’s will work closely with you to ensure your child is happy in school and making the best progress possible. We have a very experienced staff who understand children very well, and who understand that you are your child’s first and most important educator. You know your child very well, and we ask you to work closely with us as we get to know them too.

We have a well resourced Early Years Unit, with secure access to an outside area, allowing children to choose where they play.

Our philosophy is based on strong Christian values such as love, respect, justice and honesty, which is why you will find school to have a calm, inviting atmosphere where the children are extremely kind and well behaved.

We believe we are a very special school where your child will be at the heart of everything we do. St Gregory’s are an ever changing school, determined to keep moving forwards, providing children with an education fit for the world they are living in.
